Administrator Not Appearing in Team

Overview

You added an Administrator to a Team, but they are not shown in the Sub-Team you want them to be the Administrator of.

Solution

This situation can occur when the Administrator is added while you are logged in under the Team context. For example, you were logged in under the 'Region 1' Team context and added the Administrator that you wanted to be the Administrator of the 'Security' Sub-Team under 'Region 1'.

  1. Verify that you are in the original context that you added the Administrator, from the example: 'Region 1'

  2. Remove the Administrator from the Team. From the example, the Administrator would be deleted from the 'Region 1' Team
    1. From the left navigation menu, Administration section, click Teams to open the My Teams page
    2. On the My Teams page, navigate to the team that the Administrator was added to and click the team name to open the Team information page
    3. Select the Administrator in the Members list and click Remove

  3. Change your context to the desired Sub-Team. From the example, this would be the 'Security' Team under 'Region 1'

  4. Add the Administrator to this Sub-Team. From the example, the Administrator would be added to the 'Security' Team
    1. Locate the Administrator using any of the tabs displayed (Users, Broadcast Groups, Smart Groups, or Escalation Groups). Use the search fields provided to search by name or filter using the Criteria Editor.
    2. Select the Administrator and click Add. The Administrator is added to the Members list
    3. Click Next, then click Next again in the Leaders list to open the Team Definition page
    4. The Team Definition page lists the team name, members, and leaders (with their permissions). The Administrator that you added should appear in this list. Click Save to save changes, or click Back to return to the previous screen and edit the team before saving it

After completing these steps the Administrator will be an Administrator of both the desired Sub-Team and the Team above it hierarchically. From the example, the Administrator would be the Administrator of 'Region 1' and 'Security'.
