AlertFind Automatic Import Fails with Error: Unexpected search error (Get by DN)

Overview

When reviewing your results from an automated import and you are using Active Directory as the source you find an error similar to: errorMessage": { "lde_message": "0000208D: NameErr: DSID-03100238, problem 2001 (NO_OBJECT), data 0, best match of:\n\t'OU=OuName1,OU=OuName2,DC=us,DC=example,DC=com'\n\u0000", "lde_dn": "OU=OuName1,OU=OuName2,DC=us,DC=example,DC=com" }, "message": "Unexpected search error (Get by DN)", "error": null


Solution

This issue can arise when the user associated with the error has a duplicate account in Active Directory.

  1. Locate the user in Active Directory and delete the duplicate account
  2. Run the synchronization again

After removing the duplicated user from Active Directory the sync is able to complete successfully.
