Overview
When attempting to import a Roster into AlertFind you receive the following error message: Error: Maximum view state size limit (170KB) exceeded. Actual view state size for this page was ###.###KB where ###.### is a value greater than 170.
Solution
This issue occurs when the file is not saved in the 'UTF-8 with LF' format. If the editor you are using to update your Roster does not support saving in this format, the instructions below will guide you on using Notepad++, a free third-party text editor, to correct the file format.
- Open the Roster in Notepad++
- Click Encoding from the menu at the top
- Notice that the top section identifies this example as encoded with UTF-8-BOM, which is invalid. Click Convert to UTF-8 to convert the file
- Save the file and run the import again
After updating the file format the import is successful.
